Texas man files seatbelt failure lawsuit
A Texas man has filed a defective seatbelt lawsuit against Nissan. Michael Guillory alleges that he was injured in an accident while driving in his Nissan Pathfinder because the vehicle’s seatbelt failed to properly protect him.
According to the seatbelt failure lawsuit, Guillory’s vehicle was struck by another car when the driver of that vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. He says that although he was properly wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, because the belt unlatched during the accident, it failed to properly restrain him.
Guillory is seeking $75,000 in damages from Nissan. According to the lawsuit filed by his defective seatbelt attorneys, the company is negligent in the design of the vehicle because it failed to properly protect him in the event of a foreseeable accident due to the fact that its restraint system is not crash-worthy.
