nuvaring
Several studies have found that the NuvaRing can double a woman’s risk of blood clots compared with birth control pills.

This increased clots risk can leave patients vulnerable to a number of other serious NuvaRing side effects, including pulmonary embolism, heart attack, stroke or deep vein thrombosis.

The NuvaRing is a small contraceptive ring which was first released by Organon USA in 2001. The birth control ring is designed to be left in place in the vagina for a duration of three weeks.
Public Citizen has called on the FDA to ban the NuvaRing because of the health risks.

Because of this, the NuvaRing was intended as a more convenient alternative for women who have trouble remembering to take a daily birth control pill.

However, in addition to its unique design, the NuvaRing also contains a different hormone combination than many older brands of birth control pills.

And although the hormone dose delivered by the NuvaRing is lower than that of most birth control pills, many experts believe that the hormones in the NuvaRing may be more likely to cause blood clots than older birth control pills.

In addition to doubling their risk of blood clots, studies have also found that women using the NuvaRing are twice as likely to suffer a fatal pulmonary embolism as with other types of birth control.

The consumer group Public Citizen has called on the Food and Drug Administration to ban the NuvaRing because of the potential health risks caused by the hormones it delivers.

The group says that the birth control ring increases a woman’s risk of side effects without providing any additional medical benefits to justify that health risk.

Dozens of women have filed NuvaRing lawsuits against Organon after they suffered blood clots or other NuvaRing side effects while using the device.

These women have alleged that the company falsely marketed the NuvaRing as a safe alternative to the Ortho Evra patch despite the increased clot risk that users may face.
