Medtronic issues Sprint Fidelis lead recall
October 15th, 2007
Medtronic Inc. has announced that it has recalled a popular type of lead wire used to send an electrical signal from an implantable cardioverter defibrillator to the heart. The company says that the Sprint Fidelis leads are more likely to fracture than its other lead wires and may be linked to the deaths of at least five patients.
