Hissey Kientz, LLP Files Lawsuit Against Zyprexa Maker
The law office of Hissey Kientz announced this week that it filed suit against Eli Lilly and Company on behalf of a 39-year-old woman who died from cardiac arrest due to pancreatitis. The lawsuit alleges that the victim’s use of Zyprexa to treat bipolar disorder caused her to suffer two distinct cases of pancreatitis. The second instance was fatal (Case #0:07-cv-00168). More »

Ortho Evra Contraceptive Patch Associated With Deadly Side Effects
The death rate for the Ortho Evra patch is more than three times higher than the rate associated with other contraceptives. The Associated Press, which cited federal death and injury reports, found that many women in their late teens and early twenties died in 2004 from blood clots believed to be related to the birth control patch side effects, and many more survived strokes and other clot-related problems.
